Why is my inspection score missing or not uploading?
Find out why an inspection has no score, is saved only on your phone, or still has photos waiting to upload.
An inspection score, the inspection record, and its photos do not all upload at the same time. Use these checks to identify what is missing and take the right next step.
Applies to: Inspectors and managers who can create or view inspections. Creating inspections requires both Inspections (Create) and Inspections (Reports) access.
First, Identify What Is Missing
- Scheduled > Draft: The inspection is still in progress and has not been submitted.
- Completed > Uploading media: The inspection record was created, but one or more photos are still uploading. The score and report can already be available on the web.
- You have number items to sync on HOME: The inspection itself was saved on this device after submission could not reach the server.
- Total score: -- or -- %: The inspection has no usable maximum score. This is a scoring problem, not a photo-upload problem.
If the Total Score Is Missing
- Open MORE > Inspections.
- If the inspection is still in progress, open Scheduled > Draft and select it.
- Check Items scored and Total score at the top.
- Score at least one item with a value other than N/A. Your company may use custom score choices; otherwise the choices are N/A, Bad, Ok, and Good.
- Confirm Total score now shows points and a percentage before submitting.
Unscored items and N/A do not contribute to the total. If every item is unscored, N/A, or assigned a zero-point choice, the app shows Total score: --.
If a non-zero item is scored but the total still shows --, an account administrator should check the inspection scoring configured for that checklist on the web. Each inspection item needs a valid maximum score, supplied by its scoring setup.
After an administrator corrects the setup:
- Tap MORE > Sync.
- Tap Sync to refresh checklist and scoring data on the phone.
- Start a new inspection and confirm its total before submitting. A draft created before the correction can retain the old scoring values.
Completed inspections are read-only in the mobile app. If an inspection was submitted without a usable score, correcting the setup does not recalculate that completed inspection; a new inspection may be required.
If the Inspection Is Not on the Web
When the app cannot create the inspection on the server, it shows Uploading failure. Saving data offline. and then Successfully saved data offline. The submitted inspection becomes an unsynced item rather than returning to Draft.
- Return to HOME.
- Tap the You have number items to sync banner.
- Connect to the internet and tap Sync all items. Keep the app open while the inspection record syncs.
- If it does not sync, open Inspections, open the item's menu, and tap Update item to retry that inspection.
- When the sync banner clears, check MORE > Inspections > Completed and the web report again.
The app also attempts to sync unsynced inspections when it reconnects. MORE > Sync refreshes server data stored on the phone; it is not the control for uploading an unsynced inspection.
If Photos Are Still Uploading
After the inspection record is created, its photos enter a separate background upload queue. You may see Uploading media, Inspection uploaded, or Inspection upload incomplete while that queue runs.
- Connect to a stable internet connection.
- Open MORE > Inspections > Completed.
- Look under Uploading media. A progress indicator means the background upload is still running.
- If the inspection shows failed files, open it.
- Find the photo marked Retry and tap it to retry that file.
Normal queued photo uploads can continue in the background; you do not need to keep the inspection screen open. If a photo could not enter the queue at submission time, reopening the app or the completed inspection while online prompts another attempt.
If uploads continue to fail, update Clean Smarts from your device's app store and retry. Recent upload defects have been corrected through mobile app updates.
If Retry still fails, record the location, inspection date, app version, exact message, and failed-file count before contacting Clean Smarts Support.
Access and Other Edge Cases
- Inspections appears under MORE for users with inspection create or view access.
- Scheduled and the location Inspection tab appear only for users who can create inspections. View-only users see Completed.
- Some companies require inspectors to be checked in at the location before they can start an inspection. This does not affect the score on an inspection that is already completed.
- MORE > Inspections > Completed loads recent inspections from the past 30 days. Use the web report to find older inspections.
- Do not tap Delete Draft, Remove item, clear app data, or uninstall the app while work is still in Draft, waiting to sync, or waiting to upload. Those actions can permanently remove locally stored inspection data or photos.
