How do I use the Home screen and main tabs?
Learn what the Home screen and main tabs do, where to find mobile tools, and why your options may differ from a coworker's.
Use this guide to find your next shift, schedule, messages, profile, and other tools in the Clean Smarts mobile app.
Applies to: Cleaners, customers, supervisors, and managers. Your administrator controls which locations and feature modules your user can access, so your screen may not match another user's screen.
Use the Main Tabs
The bottom navigation bar can contain up to four tabs:
- HOME — View your check-in area, notifications, and shortcuts for today's work.
- MY JOBS — Find locations and work for the selected date in Schedule, List, or Map views. The Schedule view includes Mine and All, but appears only for users with schedule or inspection-schedule access; List and Map remain available.
- MESSAGES — Read chats and see an unread-message badge. This tab appears only when your user has at least one Messaging module.
- MORE — Open your profile and the other tools allowed for your user.
When MESSAGES is not enabled, MORE moves into its place as the third tab. Some full-screen pages, including My Profile and an individual chat, temporarily hide the bottom bar; use the back button to return.
Tapping the tab you are already using returns to that tab's main page. The app can also remember your last main tab, so it may not always reopen on HOME.
Use the Home Screen
Tap HOME when you are ready to work or want a quick status overview.
Check in or out
For non-customer users, Home shows one of these check-in states:
- Your next shift shows the suggested location and shift time. Use Slide to check in, Check in with NFC, or Check in with barcode, depending on that location's setup.
- Select a different location opens shift selection when the suggested shift is not the one you need.
- Slide to check out, Check out with NFC, or Check out with barcode appears when you are checked in to the selected shift.
- A plain Check in button appears when the app does not have a next shift to suggest. Tap it to choose an available shift or location.
Customer users do not see the Home check-in area.
While you are checked in, your location and CURRENT SESSION timer appear above the bottom navigation bar on most screens. Tap that strip to open the active location. Contractors see the active location without the timer.
Read notifications and Home shortcuts
The Notifications card shows how many new alerts are stored on the phone. Tap it to read alerts about assignments, issues, or supply requests that apply to you.
Home always includes Today's schedule. Other shortcuts depend on your user:
- Who's working appears with company-level or view-level scheduling access.
- My hours appears with cleaner or company time-tracking access, except for contractors.
- Open issues appears with an Issue module.
- Recent inspections appears with permission to view or create inspections.
Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner to open My Profile. The small green or red dot on the picture shows whether the app can currently connect to the server.
The + button opens only the create actions your user is allowed to perform, such as New Issue, New message, New inspection, New supply request, New work order, New shift, New location, or New user. Having permission to view a feature does not always include permission to create it.
If the app has work saved offline, a banner says You have [number] items to sync. Tap it to review those items and use Sync all items when you are online.
Find Tools Under More
Tap MORE, then scroll to find these options:
- My Profile — Available to every signed-in user. Change your email, language, PIN, or profile picture; check Connection Status; and use payroll actions when your company has enabled them.
- Inspections — Appears with inspection view or create access. Users who can create inspections get Scheduled and Completed tabs; in-progress inspections are listed as Drafts inside Scheduled. View-only users get Completed.
- Supplies — Appears with a Supplies module.
- Issues or Service request — Appears with an Issue module. Users with only customer issue access see Service request; other issue users see Issues.
- Users — Appears with user view, user edit, or company time-tracking access.
- Work Orders — Appears with work-order view or edit access.
- Assets — Appears with asset view or edit access.
- Help, Feedback, Sync, and Logout — Available to every signed-in user.
Use MORE > Sync when data on the phone looks stale. This refreshes server data; pending offline uploads are handled separately from the banner on HOME.
The Privacy Policy, Terms of Services, and app Version are at the bottom of MORE. Include the version number when reporting an app problem.
If Something Is Missing or Empty
- Check MY JOBS > List if Schedule is not available. A missing Schedule view can be normal for your access.
- Ask an administrator to confirm your feature modules, role, location access, and shift assignments if a tab, shortcut, menu, or job is missing.
- Use MORE > Sync after an administrator changes your access or schedule.
- Tap Logout, then sign in again if a module change still does not appear.
- Update the app if the navigation or labels do not match this guide.
An empty Today's schedule or MY JOBS view can mean there is no work for your user or selected date. If the entire Home screen does not load, check the connection dot, reconnect to the internet, and try MORE > Sync.
