How do I use Alerts in the mobile app?

Use the Notifications card on Home to review assignment, issue, and supply request changes received by the Clean Smarts mobile app.

Use Alerts to review recent assignment, issue, and supply request changes that the mobile app has received.

Applies to: Mobile users who can access HOME. The Notifications card is not limited to managers and does not have its own module setting. Your location access and modules determine which updates you receive and whether you can open the related record.

Before You Start

  • The card is named Notifications on HOME. The screen it opens is named Alerts.
  • Alerts are saved on the device from updates received by the app. They are not a complete company audit log and may differ between devices.
  • The device keeps up to 100 of its most recent alerts.
  • Push notifications, email, and SMS/text are separate delivery channels. Phone notification permission does not control whether you can open this in-app list.

Review Your Alerts

  1. Tap HOME on the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Find the Notifications card. It shows the number of new alerts and a red indicator when new alerts are available.
  3. Tap the card to open Alerts.
  4. Review alerts under Today, Yesterday, and Older. New alerts use heavier text.
  5. Tap the search icon to search by alert type or words in the alert message.
  6. Tap an alert to open the related assignment, issue, or supply request when details are available.
  7. Return to HOME when you are finished.

Leaving the Alerts screen clears the new-alert count for everything currently in the list. You cannot mark one alert as read or unread by itself.

If the list has no saved alerts, it displays No notifications found.

Alerts You May See

  • Assignment — an assignment for your user was created or updated. Tap it to open the related location and work details.
  • Issue — an issue you have access to was created or updated. Tap it to open the issue.
  • Supply Request — a supply request you have access to was created or updated. Tap it to open the request in its open or fulfilled list.

An alert may still show its message without opening a detail screen. This can happen when the related record is no longer available, your access changed, or the app did not save enough record data with the alert. If the app cannot open it, you may see Unable to open alert details.

What Is Not Included in This List

The in-app Alerts list is not a history of every notification Clean Smarts sends.

  • Late, no-show, and shift reminder notifications are not added to this list.
  • Chat messages are reviewed under MESSAGES, not Alerts.
  • A push banner does not automatically become an item in Alerts.
  • Email and SMS/text notifications do not appear here.

This distinction matters when troubleshooting. For example, a missing no-show push, email, or text should be checked through that delivery channel and the user's web notification setup—not by looking for it on the Alerts screen.

Troubleshooting

  • I do not see the Notifications card. In the current mobile app, the card appears for users who can reach HOME; there is no Alerts-specific module. Confirm you are using the current app and are signed in to the expected company. If you cannot reach the main app, an administrator must give your user access to at least one location and one module.
  • The card says 0 new alerts. The count means there are no alerts newer than the last time you left the Alerts screen. Open the list to review older saved alerts.
  • An expected change is missing. Confirm you are in the correct company, have access to the related location and feature, and have an internet connection so the app can receive updates. Because this is device-local history, reinstalling the app, switching accounts, or using another phone can produce a different list.
  • I expected a late, no-show, reminder, message, email, or text. Check the matching notification channel instead. Those events are not represented by this list.
  • Search shows an empty screen. Clear the search text. The empty search result does not mean the device's full alert list was deleted.
