# How do I set up active geofence monitoring?
Geofence monitoring restricts employees from clocking in or out unless they are physically at the location within a defined radius.
### **Steps to enable geofence monitoring**
1. **Option 1**: Click your profile in the bottom left corner, go to Manage Locations, and select the location where you want to enable geofencing.
**Option 2**: Use the search bar at the top left (or press Ctrl+K) and type the location name.
2. Under the location name, go to the General tab.
3. Ensure the location has an address entered. You'll see a red pin showing where the location is on the map.
4. Select the geofence option you want.
5. A red circle will automatically appear around the property, this is your geofence.
### **Adjusting the geofence radius**
- You can make the circle larger or smaller using the geofence radius setting.
- The minimum recommended radius is **0.125** miles.
- A warning will appear if you set the radius smaller than the recommended minimum.
Save your changes to apply the geofence settings to the location.
