How do I find my way around Clean Smarts?

Find the menus and tabs Clean Smarts shows customer users on the web portal and the mobile app, and what to do if an item is missing.

Use this guide after you sign in as a customer (building client). It shows the menus you actually get on the web portal and in the current blue-and-white mobile app—not the staff menus for clocking in, schedules, or payroll.

Applies to: Building-client customer users whose cleaning company created a login and assigned locations. What you see depends on the modules and buildings they turned on for you.

Before You Start

  • Sign in on the web at app.cleansmarts.com, or open the Clean Smarts mobile app.
  • Ask your cleaning company for a login if you do not have one yet, and confirm which buildings you should see.
  • You will not see clock-in, timesheets, payroll, or other staff-only tools. That is expected for a customer login.
  • If a menu in this article is missing, your company may not have given you that module or location. Ask them before contacting Clean Smarts support.

Find Your Way on the Web

The left-hand menu is the main map of the web portal. A typical customer role shows these items.

Left-hand menu

  • Home — Your dashboard. Use Widgets in the page header to add cards your role allows, such as open issues, inspection scores, open supply requests, or a Create a message shortcut.
  • Quality — Opens a group of quality tools when you have more than one of them:
    • Issues — Report a problem and track it. This is the web name for a service request.
    • Ratings — Public feedback scores for areas in your building. This page is on the web only.
    • Inspections — Completed inspection scores, notes, and photos for your locations.
    • Tasks & Scans — Completed checklist tasks, photos, and scan-point visits. Pick a location and date range.
  • Requests — Supply requests for your locations. If your company also gave you other supply tools, look under Supplies > Requests instead.
  • Message Center — Chat with your cleaning company about a location.

If your company turned on only one Quality item, that item appears on its own in the left menu instead of under Quality.

You will not see Scheduling, Work Orders, Time Tracking, Payroll, Accounting, Manage Users, Manage Locations, or Company Settings. Those are staff tools.

Search and your profile

  1. Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) to search for a page you can open, such as Message Center or Inspections.
  2. Click your name in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar to open Notifications, switch Dark or Light mode, or Log out.

Your profile menu does not include company setup pages.

Find Your Way on the Phone

The bottom bar can show up to four tabs: HOME, MY JOBS, MESSAGES, and MORE.

If your login does not include messaging, MESSAGES is hidden and MORE moves into its place as the third tab.

HOME

Customer users do not see a check-in slider or clock on HOME. Use the tiles and shortcuts instead:

  • Today's schedule — Opens MY JOBS for today.
  • Open issues — Appears when you have an Issue module. Tap it to see open service requests.
  • Recent inspections — Appears when you can view inspections. The number counts inspections from the past three days; tapping it opens the completed list.

Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner to open My Profile. Tap the Notifications bell to read alerts.

The + button shows only the create actions your login allows. For a typical customer that can include New Issue and New message. Use MORE > Supplies to request supplies.

MY JOBS

Tap MY JOBS to see locations you can access for the selected date.

  • List and Map are always available.
  • Schedule appears when your login includes inspection-view or schedule access (the standard Customer role includes inspection view).

An empty list often means there is no scheduled work for that date, not that your login failed.

MESSAGES

Tap MESSAGES to talk with your cleaning company.

  • Open the Customers tab for location chats.
  • You will not see staff Internal boards.
  • You can reply in chats you were added to. You cannot start a new custom group; that is a staff permission.

MORE

Tap MORE, then use the items your company enabled:

  • My Profile — Email, language, profile picture, and connection status.
  • Inspections — Completed inspection scores. View-only customer access opens the Completed list (the last 30 days on the phone).
  • Supplies — Request paper, soap, liners, or other catalog items.
  • Service request — Report a problem and track it. This label appears when your only Issue module is Issue (Customer). Staff users see Issues instead.
  • Help — Opens the Clean Smarts Knowledge Base.
  • Feedback, Sync, and Logout — Available to every signed-in user.

You will not see Users, Work Orders, or Assets on a standard customer login.

If a Menu or Building Is Missing

  1. Confirm you signed in on app.cleansmarts.com or the current blue-and-white Clean Smarts app—not an old or third-party app.
  2. Check that you opened the correct company if the login asked you to choose one.
  3. On the phone, go to MORE > Sync, wait for sync to finish, then look again.
  4. Ask your cleaning company to confirm your user is active, which locations you should see, and which customer modules they assigned (for example Issue (Customer), Checklist (Customer), Inspections (View), Supplies (Request), or Messaging (Customer)).
  5. Sign out and sign back in after they change your access.

If you can sign in but a building is missing, that is a location-access setting on your user—not a broken menu.
